VLIF Plastic Surgery Seoul - The best decision I’ve made.

After traumatic experience with facial procedures in Vietnam that left me physically and emotionally scarred, I spent months searching for a clinic that specialised in facial rejuvenation and could help restore not just my appearance, but my confidence.

I submitted photos and goals and they came back with a thorough recommendation and pricing. After a 10% deposit, I booked my surgery date and flights. I also chose to stay in an Airbnb close by for better post-op comfort (highly recommended).

I arrived in Seoul 2 days early to enjoy the city, a little before surgery. On consultation day, Dr Shim, my chosen surgeon was running behind schedule, but at no point did I feel rushed. When he began designing my face, I was visibly nervous, he gently told me “you’re going to be beautiful.” It’s something I’ve never forgotten.

Surgery day came and I was under IV sedation for about 5 hours. When I woke up, I was bandaged but not in pain - just groggy and swollen. In fact, even in the following days, I didn’t experience pain, just some expected tightness around my cheeks and neck. The only minor issue was some ptosis (drooping) in my left eye due to Botox, which is fast resolving on its own.

Recovery was far better than I expected. VLIF provided a full aftercare kit, with
- eyedrops
- scar ointment
- bruising and sunscreen cream
- cooling eye masks (perfect for swelling)
- 4 red light therapy session
- one complimentary hair shampoo

I also purchased 5 sessions of HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy), which I highly recommend - it dramatically sped up healing and reduced bruising.

My blood drains were removed on day 2 (totally painless), eye stitches on day 5 and stitches around ear on day 7 (again totally painless).

Post eating and sleeping took some adjustment, but we’re absolutely manageable. Throughout the recovery period, the team checked in regularly and offered support and reassurance. They truly never stopped caring.

Now 2 weeks post-op, I can honestly say, i can see me again, a younger and beautiful version to come, when fully healed.

Dr Shim and the entire VLIF team helped me regain not just my face, but my confidence, peace and self worth. They are not only skilled professionals, but also deeply compassionate people.
