my experience with VLiff was excellent
I underwent a facelift procedure with Dr. Youn at VLiff after a long period of careful consideration. Deciding to have surgery was not easy; I spent significant time weighing the financial, emotional, and physical impact. The fear, mental stress, and uncertainty made this a difficult decision. However, seeing how aging had begun to diminish my confidence, I ultimately felt that a facelift could help restore a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
My experience at VLiff has been overwhelmingly positive. From the beginning, I felt supported by their professional and kind staff. The clinic itself is large, modern, clean, and very well-maintained. I would like to especially recognize my consultant Aimee, who was exceptional. She assisted us from our first consultation all the way through my departure, making the process smooth and less intimidating.
Dr. Youn deserves my deepest thanks. He is outstanding, not only highly skilled, but also kind and attentive. He speaks English fluently, which is incredibly helpful for patients who do not speak Korean. His care and expertise gave me confidence throughout the process.
The surgery itself lasted approximately seven hours. Pain management was moderate at best; while the clinic provided pain medications prepackaged and arranged for pickup from a pharmacy the day of or the day before surgery, immediate post-operative pain was still present and required tolerance. Post-operative follow-up instructions were provided, and VLiff made an effort to communicate with us selectively because we live out of state and out of the country. They explained that if we needed to return for any reason, they would let us know, but after returning home to the United States, they did continue to follow up periodically. That said, as with any medical procedure, it is critical that patients stay proactive and advocate for their own care, patients should not expect hand-holding through every aspect of recovery.
Now that I am in recovery, I want to share some of my post-operative concerns:
• Residual swelling and dimples: I still have dimples on both sides of my face near the temples and ears. These have improved as swelling has gone down but remain more prominent on the left side where injections were given.
• Lumps: Small lumps are still present under the skin, which the clinic assured would resolve as swelling continues to decrease.
• Intermittent soreness: I experience occasional mild, pulsating soreness in different spots on my face and around the endotine fixation sites, particularly when I am active or outside even for short periods.
• Eye-related symptoms: My left eye continues to tear excessively (epiphora), causing blurred vision that makes reading and driving difficult. I completed all prescribed eye drops, but the issue has persisted for over a month. I have scheduled an appointment with my ophthalmologist for further evaluation.
These concerns have temporarily affected my ability to work, but I remain hopeful they will improve with time.
Overall, my experience with VLiff was excellent. The facility, staff, and Dr. Youn provided top-notch care, and I am grateful for the professionalism and warmth throughout this journey. For anyone considering a procedure, my advice would be to understand that post-surgical recovery requires patience and that you must stay vigilant and proactive as your own medical advocate, especially if you are traveling internationally for care.
Thank you again to Dr. Youn, Aimee, and the entire VLiff team for their care and expertise.
